What we are looking for

BULKHEAD is seeking a Concept Artist to contribute to the visual direction of our projects. Working closely with artists, designers, and producers, this role involves creating high-quality concept art to support game development, from initial sketches to final production-ready designs.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Bringing Worlds to Life – Develop concept art for characters, environments, and props.
• Research & Mood Boards – Gather references and establish visual direction.
• Creative Iteration – Produce thumbnails and refine ideas based on feedback.
• Delivering on Deadlines – Ensure work meets quality standards and production timelines.
• Team Collaboration – Work closely with the art team to maintain consistency and cohesion.

What we need from you

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop & photo bashing techniques.
• Strong fundamentals – anatomy, lighting, composition, and colour theory.
• Adaptability – ability to iterate on designs and take feedback constructively.
• Excellent communication & teamwork skills.
• Passion for video games – FPS experience is a plus!
• Relevant degree in Illustration, Fine Art, or a related field is desirable.

Bonus:

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine & 3D software.
• Experience working within a game development pipeline.

The Game

You'll be working on Wardogs, an all-out-warfare multiplayer first person shooter. That means infantry combat, tank warfare, jet dog fighting, and artillery barrages. We play test the game twice a week, so you'll have lots of time to get stuck in and really be a part of the game you're creating.
